Erinvale 18 November 2011

I had the privilege of being invited for a golf day at the prestigious Erinvale Golf Club. Some honourable members of our four-balls were some ex-springbok rugby players, including Toks van der Linde, Divan Serfontein, and Jannie Engelbrecht.
The start was a bit disappointing – usually the club equips their golf carts with scorecards and a green distance card – which were missing – which meant we had to guess distances to the pin for the day (Yes, I was too lazy to turn around and go and fetch them from the clubhouse).
The weather was quite warm, with a bit of a gusty wind. The golf course, as you will see from the photos below, is unbelievably beautiful.
It was my first time on the course, and I was really swinging well, even if the scorecard didn’t say so.
For those who haven’t played at Erinvale – be warned – the greens are generous, but can leave you with some monster putts, and they’re guarded by pot bunkers and water on quite a few holes, especially on the front 9.
And here’s the visuals:

… Toks and Pragma’s CEO, Adriaan: I think one of the few times Toks actually has to look up to someone in conversation Smile

A huge thanks to Pragma, Adriaan, and the ex-boks for making it a day to remember!
Thanks also to Stephan for organising the competition.
